Compliance & HIPAA

Medcon implemented the Office of Inspector General’s Compliance Plan for Physician Billing Companies in 1998.  Medcon consistently perfects its compliance plan with legal counsel guidance, employee suggestions and an acute awareness to ever-evolving state and federal regulations.  Medcon’s professionals are trained and certified.  

New employees receive an in-service regarding Medcon’s integrity and confidentiality policies.  Employees must sign an acknowledgement statement when hired, and annually, that indicates compliance plan understanding and agreement.  Further, employees receive bi-monthly newsletters that highlight the latest billing and compliance issues.  Monthly compliance training classes conclude with written exams.  

Medcon performs approximately two exhaustive client compliance evaluations annually.
